Wrocław Security Summit - 2nd International Science Conference NATO and the EU – strategic partnership and cooperation within Euro-Atlantic security area
The University of Wrocław - the Institute of International Studies will organize an international event entitled The Wrocław Security Summit - 2nd International Science Conference NATO and the EU – strategic partnership and cooperation within Euro-Atlantic security area, co-financed under the NATO Public Diplomacy Division's Co-Sponsorship Grants and implemented under the patronage of the NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
The main goal of the project is to initiate an international debate and to create a consortium of universities and research centres as part of the pioneering and cyclical concept of the Wrocław Security Summit, concerning the NATO and EU security policy, based on current doctrines and programs as the basis of the transatlantic and European security and defence architecture.
The international conference is aimed at experts in the field of security and defence as well as representatives of academia. The direct audience of the project will be Polish and foreign specialists in the field of security research, as well as diplomats, officers of the armed forces, experts of analytical centres, and students. Journalists and the media, including social media, will also be an important target group.
The group of invited experts includes representatives of international organizations, institutions, universities and centers, such as NATO (Belgium), University of North Georgia (USA), European Security and Defense College (Belgium), Centre for European Policy Studies (Belgia), International Institute for Strategic Studies (UK), Stellenbosch University (South Africa), University of Žilina (Slovakia), Baltic Defense College (Estonia), Strategic Research Center, Latvian Defence Academy (Latvia), Taras Schevchenko National University (Ukraine), International Security and Partnership Center (Ukraine), Tbilisi State University (Georgia), The Center for International Studies at the International Black Sea University (Georgia), George C. Wishing to emphasize this important event, the authorities and employees of the Institute of International Studies of the University of Wrocław would like to invite interested persons to participate in this international scientific conference -The Wroclaw Security Summit - 2nd International Science Conference NATO and the EU – strategic partnership and cooperation within Euro-Atlantic security area which will take place on 14-16 December 2021 in the building of the Library of the University of Wrocław.
The main goal of the conference will be to exchange views expressed by representatives of national and foreign research centres and other institutions, dealing with the issues of international security, national security, and military security. The conference will also bring closer NATO's current agenda by examining aspects such as:
- Defence and security (including defence investment and capabilities);
- Projecting stability/NATO Partnerships;
- Defence, deterrence and dialogue (with focus on NATO-Russia relations);
- Transatlantic security cooperation & new security challenges.
Thematic areas of the conference:
- Development of national and allied capabilities in the field of building resilience to new types of threats - NATO and the EU cooperation in the face of hostile information and disinformation
- Capacity building in the field of conventional and unconventional forces as one of the basic elements of the NATO strategy
- Russia's influence on the Euro-Atlantic security system - threats and challenges
- Increase of China's global importance and consequences for Euro-Atlantic security
- NATO's policy towards new global challenges and the NATO 2030 process
- Building peace and security in the southern neighbourhood of NATO and the EU
The conference is co-organized and co-financed by the NATO Public Diplomacy Division's Co-Sponsorship Grants, the state budget of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Program: „Doskonała nauka – Wsparcie konferencji naukowych" (project number: DNK/SP/513960/2021), the European Commission Regional Representation in Wrocław and the City of Wrocław.

In order to increase the security level of the participants of the Wrocław Security Summit conference, We would like to convey that the organizers have made a decision to have only the experts, organizers and co-organizers take part in the conference on site. All other registered participants will be able to participate online.
We also invite you to online concerts, which are planned on December 14th and 15th. Details can be found attached, along with access to the ZOOM application.
Such actions meet the guidelines announced by the Minister of Health in the field of counteracting COVID-19, which will come into force on December 15
Publication:
Accepted articles will be published in the monograph entitled: NATO and the EU - strategic partnership and cooperation in the field of the Euro-Atlantic security area.
